Frequently Asked Questions

 

Q: When can we arrive at the Estate?

A: You may start your day at the estate at 9 AM, the morning of your event.

Q: How can we secure our preferred date?

A: A nonrefundable 33% deposit is required upon contract signing that will come off your final balance. Balance is due 30 days prior to your event. 

Q: Is a security deposit required?

A: Yes. A $500 security deposit is required 30 days prior to your event and will be deposited back to you bank account 15 days after your event.

Q: What kind of parking is available?

A: We are currently working with our Architect and Engineer to be able to keep us up to code to open the venue in Spring as well as be able to provide a paved parking lot for our guests. 

Q: What kind of tables and chairs do you have?

A: (16) 8 ft. Farmhouse tables, 8 60" round tables, whiskey barrels, rustic cake and gift tables, and natural wood Chiavari chairs for 160 guest. For the outside ceremony, the estate has rustic wooden benches for up to 160 guests and wooden arch. Any chairs that were only used indoor cannot be taken outdoors. 

Q: Does The Vandemark Estate have a curfew?

 A: Music will be shut off at 10:00 pm and EVERYONE must be gone by 11 pm.

Q: Can we choose our own caterer?

A: Yes, you may choose your own full service caterer or amongst our preferred in-house vendors. We do this to provide you the best and hand picked vendors in the area. Our vendors are properly licensed and insured in accordance to the set requirements by the State of Ohio.

Q: Is the barn climate controlled?

A: There is no heating or cooling in the barn ( as of yet) hence we are not open all year round. 

 

Q: Does The Vandemark Estate have disabled accessible restrooms?

A: We are working diligently with our Architect and Engineer to be able to provide our guest with restrooms that are ADA accessible.

Q: Does the barn come with the string lights or is that added for each event?

A: The barn will have its own lighting, to include custom chandeliers and string lights to add to the romantic and rustic ambiance.

Q: What is The Vandemark Estate's max capacity?

A: Maximum capacity of the barn is 100-120 guests but the venue highly suggest a tent rental for guests more than 120. 

Q: What if foul weather does not allow for an outdoor ceremony?

A: The Vandemark Estate is fully capable of hosting a ceremony inside the barn in the event of inclement weather. For parties of 120 or more, we highly suggest renting a tent to provide another covered space for guests. 

Q: What are  the prohibited items?

A: The following items are prohibited at the barn:

* Crock pots, microwaves and hot plates are prohibited.

* Furniture, tables, chairs, curtains and drapes can only be adjusted by The Vandemark Estate staffs.

* Grooming such as applying makeup, curling hair, shaving and dressing in the portable restrooms are prohibited. 

* Breaking bags of ice on the cement floor

* Feathers of any kind (This applies to any photobooth props)

* Confetti of any kind      

Q: What does The Vandemark Estate's set-up and tear-down entails? 

A: Our staff takes care of setting up all of our tables, chairs, and wedding props for you before your rental begins so that when you arrive on your wedding day, all of the heavy lifting is already taken care of! You are responsible to retrieve all wedding gifts and valuables.

 

​Q: Do you have a list of recommended caterers and vendors?

A: Yes! Once you reserve your date, we'll provide you with a list of recommended vendors. 

Q: Can we use a caterer or vendor not on the list?

A: Yes! Please be aware that we are forced to operate within certain guidelines set forth by state laws and insurance. If you have a full-service caterer and/ or vendor  that isn’t on our recommended vendor list, please have them reach out. If they are a licensed operators, we simply ask that they provide verification and liability  insurance  as well as sign our vendor agreement.

Q: Is alcohol permitted at the venue?

A: Yes, alcohol is permitted. There is a charge to open our bar service. For our bar service, we will provide:

Napkins

Stirrers

Water on the bar

$1,000.00 for guest up to 200

$1500.00 for guest over 200

         

Note: Security detail included. For every 100 guest, The Vandemark Estate and Events Venue will hire 1-2 security guards. Additionally,  NO outside drinks are permitted on the property or it will be confiscated. The Vandemark Estate And Events Venue WILL terminate the event early if policy violations has been repeatedly committed.
